8 weeks old

Today was a big day. Levi had his first set of immunizations. From the way his parents were acting, he knew this was no ordinary day. As he received his shots, his eyes widened in disbelief and then he let out a loud roar. He ended up keeping his eyes open the entire car ride home, just in case we were up to anything else.

Levi has already changed so much...He has started to giggle in his sleep. We think angels are telling him some really funny jokes. He curls his feet everytime he eats, which is really funny to watch. He loves car rides and his swing. He is intrigued with architecture ie ceiling lights and fans. However he is still not fond of the fan in his bedroom.

1 month old

Levi is now 1 month old and is doing great!!! He likes to eat every 3 to 4 hours like clock work. He is very vocal; we normally hear and ehhh when he needs some attention. He yawns and stretches like as if he has worked the fields all day. His facial features are ever changing. At first glance many say he looks just like dad, but some features of mom are evolving. His mane is thick and starting to wave. We have been losing time just gazing into his eyes and have been loving every minute of it. Thank You so much for your prayers, phone calls, texts, emails, and thoughts. We really appreciate your friendship. Levi is so blessed to have all of you in his life.

Homecoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everybody. Sorry we havent posted in a couple of days but we wanted the next post to be the best. Yesterday, August 11, 2009 at 2:30PM, our miracle came home with us. He slept through the whole drive home. Once those eyes opened you could tell he had plenty of questions. What can we say like any baby he let us know when he wanted a new diaper, was hungry, or needed to be burped. It was unbelievable to see him in our home. Our new family is now complete. Please continue to pray for him as the next few months are important that he doesnt get any infections.

Just A Blink Away

Last night was an unforgettable night. We got our first taste of being new parents. Levi woke us up every two hours on the hour....but, we loved it. He has already learned how to get what he wants. He has impressed everyone here with his recovery. Taking him home is just a blink away.

New Room

Today is a special day. Levi is doing so well that he will be transferred out of the CVICU. He has already been moved into a crib. Levi has been so good with such a calm temperment. We are so blessed that he is recovering so well. We are overjoyed that we can see the light clearer at the end of the tunnel.

Making Strides

Our little boy has continued to improve daily. He is now quite the eater, taking about 2oz each feed. He has already developed a few of his own routines as well as facial expressions that are comparable to a much older baby. He has definitely made a statement here at Texas Childrens Hospital he has approached celebrity status and has his own fan club!

Post-OP Day 2

This morning Levi's ventilator was discontinued, he is now breathing on his own. He has been very awake and alert and looking for some food. Hopefully he will be able to eat in the next few hours.
